Summary:Just how a dividing cell rebuilds the nuclear envelope, the protective, functional wrapping that encases both the original and newly copied genetic material, has been a source of controversy for the last 20 years.
Mitosis/Meiosis
What are the differences between mitosis and meiosis?Mitosis -cell division including division of the nucleus and the cytoplasm.Meiosis-cell division in sexually reproducing organisms
What problems can arise if either of these processes is not controlled properly? The cell wont be able to divide.
List three things you learned from this article in your own words.During mitosis, the nuclear envelope disintegrates, The chromosomes are pulled apart and the cell starts to divide, individual tubules of the endoplasmatic reticulum bind directly to chromatin.
What impact would the absence of this process have on the cell? The organsim will die

Good Behavior, Religiousness May Be Genetic
Link:http://www.sciencedaily.com/releases/2007/04/070405170133.htm
Summary: A new study shows that good behavoir my be passed genetically not by religion. After studying the behavoirs of two adults twins. They had found, while altruistic behavior and religiousness tended to appear together.
Mendel and Genetics
Explain the phenomenon being described in the article.behavoir is a trait that is passed
What is the difference between a genotype and a phenotype?Genotype is the formular,Phenotype is the apperence
List three things you learned from this article in your own words.Behavoir is passed, no specif gene for religion, individuals do have biological predispositions
What impact would the not understanding genetics have on medicine or agriculture? There will be less medicine and food

Climate Change Predicted To Drive Trees Northward
Link:http://www.sciencedaily.com/releases/2007/12/071203090131.htm
Summary:Trees in West Virginia are facing a deadly situation. If nothing is did for them then they will be moved northern, and shrink the range by half becauese of the climate. The trees dispersing their progeny to more favorable locations will eventually move.
Climate Change
What are some ways this phenomenon could be stopped? It says all trees will do this
Is there anything you could do to contribute to the reversal. No
List three things you learned from this article in your own words.Trees can move, All trees do this, Climate has a big affect
What impact would the continuance of these process have on the biosphere? Our trees will decrease

Progress Toward Artificial Photosynthesis
Link:http://www.sciencedaily.com/releases/2007/03/070312152123.htm
Summary: We are trying to do what plants do best and use it. Plants go through a process called photosynthesis. This process takes CO2 and turns it in to good use necessary for the plant to survive. If humans could do this it is no telling what we would do.
Photosynthesis
What is the chemical equation for photosynthesis? 6CO2 + 6H2O ------> C6H12O6 + 6O2
What organelles are involved in this process? Chloroplast
List three things you learned from this article in your own words. We can make it atifical, the equation,
What impact would the absence of this process have on the biosphere?Makes more than sugar

Giant pandas under threat from parasitic worm
Link http://environment.newscientist.com/article/dn13016-giant-pandas-under-threat-from-parasitic-worm.html
Summary: Pandas are dying and arent gonna make it. There is a parasitic worm that is the single greatest cause of death in wild giant pandas. The numbers are small. Its is just 24 wild pandas in the wild. So this is a very tragic time for the pandas.
Endangered species
Why is this species endangered? Because there are only 24 left in the wild.
What could prevent this organism from going extinct?Emerging the parisites
List three things you learned from this article in your own words.Pnadas are bout to be instict, There are only 24 left in the wild, A worm is the cause
What impact would the absence of this organism have on its ecosystem/community? Ther will be a lot more bamboo around the forest.
